Visit to the Homestead

Our good friends, Lee and Brinda left California a couple of years ago. They have grandkids in Texas and decided Texas was the place to be.  They purchased an acre of undeveloped land in Birthright, just north of Sulphur Springs.  They have a motorhome, so they are living in it while working on their Homestead. The challenges have been many. It took a long time but they now have power and water on their property. Instead of building one big house they decided to build cottages, all with different purposes. They have been sharing their adventure on YouTube and you can check them out here.

They have been dear friends for many years. When they moved to Santa Rosa, we would stop by and see them with our motorhome. They were heading to see their daughter in Washington and were our first visitors at our new home in Kuna. Needless to say, when we have been in Texas we have got together several times. We made it to their “Homestead” a couple times last year and once this year. Our mission since joining SOWERS has been to help at camps across the country. So we threw some tools in our car and headed up to the Homestead, to see what we could do to help. This time I helped Lee get the roof on their new cottage and Ann rode the riding lawn mower. Here is a link to the pictures I took.

One of the bye products of going to see them is that we end up on one of their videos. You can check them out here. Here is the one where I was helping install the roof.

This one shows Ann riding the mower.   Here is one from Feb last year.  Then one when we helped build an earlier cottage.
