This month we are working at the SOWER Office in Lindale Texas. Our project this month is to finish the multi use building located between the Office and RV Sites. It is a small apartment, storm shelter/ laundry room with bathroom, Sower meeting room and small garage (more like a built in storage shed with a roll up door!). Because of the scope of this project most of last months SOWERs stayed around to catch me up on where they were on completing the building. We are only two couples here this month, and Gary’s job is to install 5 mini split AC / Heat pumps. So between me, Ann and Stephanie get to do everything else.
We were able to break in the new building on Easter. We had 8 SOWER couples for a EASTER Potluck. It was a Blessing to celebrate with these SOWER friends. It was the next best thing to celebrating with family. We also enjoyed working with and just spending time developing deeper friendships with this crew.
I enjoy being able to build and finish construction jobs. (although I am just a rookie at it!!) SOWERs have built this building from the ground up. The teams have done a great job and have finished the paint, floors, cabinets, finished the outside. We will be here just over three weeks and we hope to finish up the rest of the project. Ann who loves working with tools, has installed all the cabinet hardware and prepared the windows to install the sills. I helped Mike and we cut the manufactured stone for the window sills. They turned out really nice. We have installed sinks, baseboard, closet doors and the list goes on. We have two more weeks then we head to Wisconsin. Stay tuned to see how far we get.
