Magnolia Silos

We remember watching Chip and Joanna Gaines taking someone who was looking for a house around Waco Texas.  They would show them three houses and their customers would choose one house. Chip and Joanna would remodel (transform) that wreck of a house into a beautiful home. They would have the big reveal where they would remove a big screen with a picture of the way the house looked originally to see the beautiful transformed home.

It seemed as if they were improving Waco one house at a time. Watching the show we had no idea how big Waco really was. Then they purchase a old Valley Mills Cotton Oil Company that had been in disrepair since the 1990s and transformed it into a destination.  The Silos location includes a Bakery, coffee shop, many shops including Magnolia Marketplace, Food Trucks, and much more.  They get almost Two Million visitors per year.

How could I not bring Ann to the Silos when we were only a hour and a half away when we know people that have driven from California just to go there.  We have been to a lot of places across the country but I don’t think that Ann has enjoyed anyplace more than going to the Silos. It is all done really nice.  We picked up a couple of muffins from the Bakery then headed to the Coffee shop for a Texas Pecan Coffee and sat in a patio area and enjoyed them. Then walked through all the shops. Everything is really nice. We did purchase a couple little things to remember our visit.

After visiting the Silos we couldn’t leave Waco without going to the Magnolia Table. This was the famous Elite Cafe that had closed down.  Chip and Joanna purchased it and did a complete remodel. We enjoyed a very nice lunch there. I love the saying on wall, “Where everyone has a seat at the table”. You can check out our Silo’s album here.

I was planning on going to the Dr. Pepper Museum that is next to the Silos, but I guess that will have to wait. Another trip to Waco might be in order.
