6 Days 6 States

What a week it has been, we stayed in a different state each night for six nights in a row. The first five nights were at Harvest Hosts, which means Boondocking. (No Hookups) Our Solar and Lithium Batteries allow us to do this without using the generator, most of the time. The sixth night was a SOWER Project. We have had great traveling weather, just a little on the warm and humid side. High eighties and high humidity, which being from the west and used to very low humidity is not too comfortable. I am looking for a Breeze.  Here is a quick list of where we stayed.

Massachusetts   We stayed at Common Ground Ciderworks in Brookfield. We sat out in their lawn area and drank a cider slushy while listening to some live music. Ann and I even played a little Corn Hole, we aren’t too good.

Rhode Island  We stayed at Leyden Farms Vineyards and Winery in West Greenwich. This was a beautiful venue and a really nice Gift Shop and Wine tasting area.  The RV sites were down by a pond. We watched the geese come in with their not so graceful landings, then they continued to spend the afternoon in the pond. This was a very beautiful and quiet site in the country. What we saw of Rhode Island was beautiful and I would go back. *Album

Connecticut  We stayed at South Towne Square in Plantsville.  This was a level gravel lot surrounded by a gas station, small shopping center, Surplus Store and busy road. The traffic did quiet down and the Mexican food was great. We did a Dollar Tree, Costco and Aldi’s run while there. The roads run every which way and sometime it seems you can’t get there from here. While we were in the pickup we came to a 10% grade that was a mile long, and this was in town. I am glad we weren’t in our RVs. It was a very interesting area.

New Jersey  We stayed at Hershey Lane Farm in Frenchtown. There was a tight turn getting into the driveway but what a beautiful place. We were parked looking out at a mowed field. It was a very quiet peaceful setting. They even had a small table and chairs set up in the shade of a tree for us to use. The Host were great and we enjoyed visiting with them. *Album

Delaware  We stayed at 302Aquaponics in Dover. This is Delaware’s largest aquaponics greenhouse. They raise Tilapia to supply the nutrients to grow soil-less lettuce. It is amazing what they do. Besides a greenhouse, it was a beautiful venue complete with chickens, cows, donkeys and goats to keep us entertained. They also had a Great Pyrenees protecting the flock of chickens. The Hosts were very welcoming and we really enjoyed our visit there. *Album

Maryland  We are staying at Sandy Cove Ministries in  North East. It is a SOWER Project that is letting us stay in their Wilderness Campground over Labor Day Weekend.  We are enjoying catching our breath, getting some maintenance done and just enjoying being in one place for a few days. We went and watched the sunset over the Chesapeake Bay last night, it was beautiful. *Album

It has been a job just planning out the routes to take, especially to go around the big cities, like New York and Philadelphia. Then figuring out the Toll Roads. We purchased Uni-pass a few months ago, so we don’t have to stop at the Toll stations, but we have to wait for the transaction to post to see what it cost.  So far not too bad. This is a fun way to see the country and meeting people along the way. We are Thankful and Blessed to be able to take this journey and go places I never dreamed I would visit. We are continually in awe of GOD’s Creation.
