Yesterday we traveled south a bit, and are staying at the Topsham Fairgrounds. It is a hidden gem, with full hook up sites for only $25.00 a night.

Yesterday afternoon we went to Freeport, ME, the home of L.L. Bean. What a nice shopping / outlet area. We enjoyed a little shopping but most importantly, we had to get our picture by the famous “Boot”.  It is a 16 foot tall size 410 boot, copy of the L.L. Bean rubber sole boot.

We started today at the Holy Donut, for you guessed it, Coffee and some really good Maine Potato Donuts.  Did you know that Maine is a big potato producer. I had no idea till we came here.

Then we toured around and checked out the Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse and the the most photographed and oldest lighthouse in Maine, completed in 1791, Portland Head Lighthouse.  Also checked out the remains of Fort Preble and Historic Battery Blair.   Here are more pictures.

Tomorrow we will be plan to go to the Maine Maritime Museum. We will be leaving Maine soon, Stay tuned!
