Hello Vermont

We left New York today and entered Vermont. We have crossed state lines over bridges, but this is the first time crossing a state line on a ferry. We took the ferry across Lake Champlain. It was about a half hour ride and around three miles. Not only was it fun but with fuel prices at over $5.00 per gallon we saved enough fuel, by not having to drive around the lake, to pay for the ride. It is hard to get any really good pictures (without getting off the ferry) but here are the ones I took.

After the ferry ride we made our way to another Harvest Hosts, Bragg Farm Sugar House.  In Vermont a Sugar House is where they make Maple Syrup.  After we parked our rigs up on a hill overlooking their store we went to check out the store. They showed us a video on how they make the Maple Syrup in the same room between the 2,000 buckets they use to collect and process the Maple Syrup. Then they had us do a Maple Syrup Tasting. They have 4 natural flavors, from lighter to darker. They each have a distinctive taste.  Look for the Vermont all natural Maple Syrup. We browsed the store and some things were too good to pass up.  Question of the day, What are Maple Creemes?? That is what they call soft serve ice cream cones, that usually is Maple flavored.  That is all for today, on to New Hampshire tomorrow. Click here for more pictures.
