Our last days in New York

As SOWERs many of the projects allow for overnight parking where we can spend the night when passing through. This allows us to learn something about the project and maybe decide to come and work the project on a future date. The School of Messianic Studies Shoshanah Campus is one of those projects. When we asked about staying here they welcomed us and invited us to their Shabbat Dinner.  It was very interesting, with the singing and dancing. The dining room was full of all ages that had come to learn more the of the Bible from a Messianic viewpoint. Link to some pictures.

Today Bruce wanted to go fuel his pickup and Katie saw that there was a Underground Railroad Museum and a Chasm not far from our camp.  I figured that the Ausable Chasm would be a quick look at a crack in the ground and go. I was so wrong. This is a big deal. I started figuring that out when the parking lot we parked in had license plates from many states and Canada. It was really cool. Check out the pictures. The bridge that crosses the Chasm was built in 1932 and was made for cars and a nice sidewalk on each side of the bridge. It was scary walking out their as you are 150 feet above the river. But is was well worth the walk. After we got back to the Coach I looked up the Ausable Chasm and found out that it is considered the Grand Canyon of the Northeast.  It has been a tourist attraction since the 1800s. There were all kinds of tours we could have taken but just seeing it was enough.  It was amazing! GOD gave us such beautiful and breath taking natural wonders scattered around. What a joy it has been for us to happen across some of them in our travels. Check out the pictures from the Chasm.  Tomorrow we plan to take our RVs across Lake Champlain. Stay tuned.
