And we are off!

We left Lighthouse Christian Camp Monday morning, our first stop was a COSTCO to stock up. We were staying at a Harvest Host just south of Oswego, New York. We parked in their parking lot and wow it was a super store fruit stand, bakery and nursey. We told them we had called and were with Harvest Host and they gave us a map to their Campground, which was about 10 minutes away. After figuring out their map we headed down the nice road, turned on a smaller road and then to a very small road and their the Harvest Host sign was, between a Christmas tree farm and a apple orchard.  This was a walk in and check out before entering the property. Campground they said?? it was more like a wide avenue with a little wider spot to turn around in just over the rise.  After checking it out we figured we could get in and turned around, and we found a couple places we could level our rigs. Initially it looked scary, but it ended up a beautiful spot and a quite night. We were thankful and enjoyed our stay.

We are staying at the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department Campground. This is a neat little campground with full hookups. The $40.00 per night fee helps fund the fire department. It has been a neat place and it is minutes from down town Lake Placid. Does the name ring a bell, The 1980 Olympics…..the United States Ice Hockey team winning the Gold.  It has been fun checking out the cool downtown and the Olympic venues.  They also hosted the 1932 Olympics and we went into the 1932 Olympic Center where they were practicing. Today we went to the Ski Jump Complex. I have a new respect for those who do that, the top of those jumps are high!!  Our trip continues tomorrow.
