Harvest Hosts in Iowa

We stopped at a couple Harvest Hosts on our way through Iowa. The first one was The Living History Farm, but we were there on a day it was closed. We parked in there giant parking lot, it was a nice quiet place to stay the night. The second stop was Bass Family Farm, it was really fun. Brenda came to greet us when we arrived and pointed us to where to park. We did unhook the car to park the coach, but that was good because Palisades Kepler State Park was across the street and Mt. Vernon, with a neat Historic district, was a few miles away. Before taking our tour in the car, we went to the store. It was a small store packed with all kinds of sauces, spices, jellies, wines, meats, ice creams, and so much more. It was a fun store and great place for the night. *Google doesn’t show it but not too many things are flat in these parts. Click here for pictures from Mt. Vernon.
