Another Harvest Hosts. This had a poorly maintained bumpy road into it, some tight corners and might have to unhook the car to safely leave in the morning. We met Joy who was feeding a baby kangaroo which she was carrying in a pouch, walked through many of the animal pens and pet lots of them. This is a baby camel that Ann is petting. Here is some information on Scatter Joy Acres.
Scatter Joy Acres is a 26-acre urban Animal Therapy/Rescue ranch in Omaha, NE. Our certified AAT program provides help for those in greatest need in our community: at-risk children, the developmentally disabled, seniors, homeless, the mentally ill, veterans, and those re-entering society.
We rescue and foster abused, neglected, and abandoned animals. Those that we don’t find a loving forever home are trained to become therapists in our Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) program.
We are also open as an interactive petting zoo. Here is a link to this album.
