We have volunteered at Mission Aviation Fellowship a couple times before, but that was when we were living full time in our motorhome.
This time we drove our “motorhome” twelve miles while volunteering here. (Good plan with the high fuel cost) I knew July would be hot when we signed up, and it is extra hot, but we are comfortable in our motorhome.
It is a Blessing to be here and see friends and make new ones, while supporting MAF by serving.
We never really know what kinds of projects await us when we arrive at a project. This time we started out as “Pastry Chefs”, yes that was we, not just Ann. Can you believe that they turned me loose in the kitchen! Well it was under Ann’s direction or they could have been in trouble. I made a couple batches of Rice Krispie Treats, while Ann was making cupcakes and cookies.

We made the treats for their annual Family Fun Day and then helped out during the big day. There were over 300 staff, families and volunteers in attendance. It was a fun day.

We rounded out the week Deep Cleaning a couple kitchens.

As always God puts the right people in the right place to do His work. We had a good first week and are looking forward to next week.

When there are other SOWERs in the area it is always fun to get together. We are Blessed to be a part of SOWERs.
