I am always amazed at the Columbia Riverfront. Our view from the RV park was across the Columbia looking at Astoria.
We had a few things that we wanted to see and do in Astoria, but when looking at Google maps The Cranberry Museum in Long Beach Washington caught my eye.
I had no idea that they grew Cranberries in the Pacific Northwest. We expected to see waist-deep bogs, like the Ocean Spray commercial. We were sure wrong, they irrigate them with big sprinklers and harvest them dry. If wet harvested it is in a couple inches of water.
We enjoyed the small museum and delightful gift shop. The Cranberry Ice Cream was great.
You just never know what you might find and learn along the way.
