It was time to show our Country Coach some love. It was built in Junction City in 2001. This is the area where the shops are that are very familiar with these coaches, many of the mechanics helped build them. When we left Aldersgate we headed south to Eugene.

Our first stop was Kaiser Brake and Alignment for what I hoped would just be an alignment. Boy was I wrong! When they did the inspection they found lots that needed fixed or replaced before doing the alignment. They were booked through October, so we made an appointment for early November. After going home, we will be bringing it back to get fixed up. Our coach will receive lots $$$ of love at this time.

Our next stop was Oregon Motor Coach. We had two things to fix at OMC. First was a small leak in the cabinet above the couch in the slide. The second was a Freon leak for the dash Air Conditioner.

The first day they resealed the top of the slide. This entailed removal of the old calking, sanding this area, cleaning, painting and applying new sealant. The leak should be gone 😀

The second day was to address the Freon leak. This had me worried, it is a long way between the back of the coach to the dash. Lots of room for leaks.
First Jake vacuumed out the very tiny bit of Freon that was in the system. Then he filled it with nitrogen. Next step Was to spray all the fittings with soapy water. He ended up finding four leaks. Typically they only find one and it is fixed.

Jake replaced both fittings coming out of the compressor, the fitting going into the condenser and an O-ring in a fitting going into the evaporator. Once the system held pressure, he drained the nitrogen, vacuumed out the system and filled it with 4 pounds of Freon. Checked to see that the air coming out of the AC vents was 20 degrees colder than the ambient air temp. Nothing like fixing your AC as winter approaches, but now I will be good to go in the spring 👍
Tomorrow we will head to Junction City to get the tires balanced.
