We like to send out New Year Cards every year. You might ask why not Christmas Cards? Well when I was working the end of the school year was always crazy busy and I could never get them done before Christmas. So I sent out New Year cards and that has become our tradition. While making these cards it causes me to look back at the year. I look for some pictures and events and stats to share. Here goes a little more in depth look back at last year.
This year we volunteered at four SOWER Projects. Doing this we added around 7,000 miles to our Motorhomes odometer. We hope to continue volunteering as long as the Lord enables us to do so. You can check out our SOWER adventures on our blog.
We are getting very comfortable in our Kuna Home. We have moved all our stuff from California. We feel very cozy and comfortable in our home. That being said we did spend more time in our Motorhome Home then our Kuna Home last year and it looks like we will do the same in 2024.
If you know me you know that I take a lot of pictures. This time of the year it is especially nice to look back and remember. We enjoyed settling into our new home, and exploring new places, but the real joy was spending time with family and friends both new and old. I kid that my pictures are my memory (and that might be getting truer every day) but I think that pictures tell the story. I went through my google photos and made a album with pictures from last year. You might find your picture in this album.
This has been a year of Blessings and Joy but also sadness and loss. My brothers wife passed away suddenly in February. Not only was Ruth our sister in law but we grew up together, she was someone that we always knew. Then in October Ann’s cousin Richard Hansen passed away. Ann and Richard shared a special bond and we enjoyed stopping by their house in Richland Washington. We looked forward to visiting and enjoying coffee with Richard and Jeanie. Both Ruth and Richard loved the LORD. They will live on in our memory and the lives that they touched.
I guess we are at that age, as we have a number of other friends that have lost their spouses. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of them.
We also have to look to the future, asking Gods Direction. We know that HE will heal the broken hearted (Psalms 147:3) and has a plan for our lives. (Proverbs 3:5-6) We look forward to following and sharing the crazy path that HE has us on.
