Fathers Day in Dayton

When our daughter was first going out with Ryan he told us about this little car show that they have every Fathers Day Weekend in his home town of Dayton Washington. Dayton is a town of around 2500 north of Walla Walla Washington. It was a couple years after they were married that we made our first trip to Dayton for Fathers Day Weekend to spend time with his Family and see this little car show. What a surprise it was to us when this little car show had cars filling both sides of the main street and cars lined up in the middle of the street. This little car show has somewhere around 300 entries.  We toured the Historic Train Depot, the Weinhard  Motel built in 1890, we had sodas at the Elk Drug Store soda fountain,  we enjoyed the car show and just had a really nice time with Ryan’s family. This started a tradition that we look forward too and now we try to make our plans around being in Dayton Washington for Fathers day.

We have enjoyed a fun weekend again this year.  We usually get a family picture in front of a car at the show but this year we took our picture after the church service where Jan and Gordon attend. We are thankful for the times we can spend with our kids and their families. Hopefully we will make it back next Fathers Day Weekend.
