SOWERS….Servants On Wheels Ever Ready has been around for 40 years. It started in 1983! We had the privilege to work with 12 other couples to help prepare for the SOWERS 40th Anniversary Rally at Alert Academy in Big Sandy Texas. There were over 100 SOWER couples coming expecting full RV hookups at their sites. Alert Academy had less than 50 full hook up RV sites. During the month before the rally SOWERS added sewer connections to around 50 water and electric sites. This was a big task, even requiring a sewer lift station. We got it done and everyone attending had full hook up sites. Praise the LORD! A side note, We were nicknamed the Sewer Sowers.
We did have over 200 SOWERs in attendance, and almost 20 Host had representatives at the Rally. There was very questionable weather in the forecast, but GOD gave us good weather. The Alert staff was very helpful. We had Devotions, Seminars, Coffee, Games, Crafts, Food, Ice Cream, Brownies, a Banquet, Fireworks, Fellowship and more. It was a great time. Many of the Project Hosts shared about their projects and expressed how God sends the right SOWER at the right time. We learned about many projects that would love to have us come and serve and we would love to serve at! It was a great time of encouragement. We are blessed to be able to serve with SOWERS and excited to continue serving as the LORD leads. We left with many new friends, and hopefully we will work with them again.
