12 Days in September

Our SOWER projects last three weeks, but that is just 12 working days. We were ten couples here at Aldersgate Camps and Retreats this month. It is amazing what our group of grandparents accomplished this month.

I was involved in two projects. The crew I was on was tasked with replacing all the rotten wood with new treated lumber on their old Big Toy.

The old tired Big Toy
Great Crew
Construction complete

We finished the construction and sanding with one day left. So David and I were switched over to the siding job.  With the help of Rick and Steve painted both ends of the gym. We got it done.

Four grandpa’s, Two airless paint sprayers and a lift.
We are a serious group.
Job well done.

While we were painting the gym, a big part of the crew painted the whole Big Toy in one day.

The new solid  Big Toy is ready for kids.

These are the two projects I was involved with, but there was a lot more that got done. The gals painted 35 picnic tables, many hand rails, doors, lots of cleaning. Lamp posts were cleaned and painted and the A-Frame we demoed last month was remodeled (mostly, the windows didn’t arrive)

Our crew. Ann was not able to be in the picture

As always, God put the right group together to accomplish these projects for His glory.

Check out my album for more pictures from this project.
