The Forty Post#6

To continue the story, David came by and looked over the Flathead. To me it looked prety bad. After David checked it out he said just clean it up, and gave me a few tips on how to do that, and you are good.   I cleaned it up the next day. I ordered the parts needed. I will take the heads to the local machine shop to get them surfaced, adjust the valves, replace the front and rear main seals and the old Flathead should be ready to put back together.

But that will have to wait a few weeks as we plan to head down to California to visit family and friends.

*I really wanted to use my shinny Offenhauser Aluminum heads, but I would need to remove the bottom row of studs and replace them with longer ones. After attempting to remove a couple and deciding that they really liked being where they were I have decided to keep the stock heads.
