The Forty Post #4

I finished the rebuild on my stock Ford three speed transmission a little over a week ago. It sure felt good to take the finished transmission off the cart and set it on the floor. It will wait there until just before the engine goes back in the car.  (Yes the engine is still in the car, but I plan to take it out next week.)  I will attach the transmission to the engine and put them in the car as a unit, when the time comes.

The Brake controller was next to get attention. ( Brake Controller: master cylinder, brake pedals and related parts) My car is 85 years old, I have had to replace a lot of parts. Wow, it was only 27 years old when I purchased it!  I replaced the master cylinder, brake pedal bushings, brake hoses, brake lines, pins and etc. I guess I have aged with my car and it seems more dificult to work on it. I just finished up the brakes today. Well almost, I still have to add brake fluid and bleed the brakes.

While I was waiting on Brake parts, I was thinking ahead to the engine. When I first built the Flathead motor, it had these Offenhauser Almunium heads on it. I replace them with a set of stock ones many years ago, but I kept these. I had time and I decided to see if they would clean up, and WOW! they cleaned up really nice. Once the engine come out and I look it over, I will have to decide if I will put these heads back on.

Follow along and see what I end up doing. Check out all the pictures here.
