My (Ann) Post-op appointment was yesterday, 15 days after surgery. It was great to get the giant bandage ripped off. By that I mean not the ripping part, but the relief after it was off! The incision is held together with steri-strips, those will come off a few at a time in the shower when they are ready . Doctor Winegar showed us the ex-ray, checked my range of motion and was very happy with my progress. The staff at Blackrock Orthopedics is so supportive and encouraging. If you are in need of a knee replacement, we highly recommend them. It was also nice to return the ThermoTek Vascu Therm 5 and Constant Passive Motion machines. They were great in helping with after surgery recovery, but it is time for the next chapter of recovery. I felt good after the post-op appointment so we did some “Store Shopping Therapy”.
The crazy pill regiment is now down to Tylenol, baby aspirin and my regular pills. The pain isn’t gone and at times is really hard to find any comfortable spot, but it is improving every day. Thursday it just might go back to really sore after Physical Therapy. Burneall has been the best caregiver a person could ever have!
