Our April SOWER project has been working at the SOWER Headquarters. SOWERS started building, what I am calling a “Hospitality Suite” back in October. At first I was calling it an apartment, but it is much more than that. It is a small apartment, a storm shelter which houses a laundry room with a washer and dryer and restroom, and a gathering room with a small shop / garage in the back. Our project was to finish what other SOWERs almost completed.
We arrived onsite the end of March. We were greeted by three of the SOWER couples who were working here in March. They stayed after there month was up so they could help me get familiar with the task at hand. I ended up the Group Leader. We were two couples assigned here in April. The other SOWER installed 5 mini splits, which took all his time. We also had lots of help from another couple that was here. Combine all this and lots of help from above, we finished the punch list on the last official day of the project. We will be leaving the “Hospitality Suite” ready to furnish.
