First Week

We just completed our first week at Riverbend Retreat Center in Glen Rose Texas. “Riverbend provides a place of refuge where people experience Christ. Riverbend specializes in providing a place for groups to step away from busy day-to-day lives and spend time with God, His Creations and each other.”

We are volunteering with 3 other SOWER Couples. We have worked with and traveled across the United States with Bruce and Katie, but we just met Brad & Cindy and Dewayne & Benita when they arrived at Riverbend Retreat. We have had a great time working together, and are looking forward to the next two weeks. The girls have been doing laundry (which there is lots of!) and some painting. The guys have replaced lots of doors and did some drywall work. We have had to think a bit, as the door thresholds had to be cut out and replaced. It is amazing how much SOWERs accomplish at a project. We will be working with this group for two more weeks. Then the rest of our crew will head to other projects and we will be staying here for another month.  Here is a link to the Riverbend Retreat Center album.
