The three weeks here at Lighthouse Christian camp have gone by fast. The last half of the project found the men setting up two full hook up RV sites. We dug the trenches, ran the sewer pipe, ran the water tubing and installed the water hydrants, and laid the electrical conduit. They plan for these to become SOWER sites. We ran out of time so we didn’t get the pad made. The girls spent their time helping housekeeping set up a system for all their linens. This will make it way easier and more efficient for the housekeeping staff. They also painted benches for sitting and watching the sunsets. Of course there was cleaning of cabins to do too. We were able to encourage those we worked with.
I remember in school studying about the Erie Canal and the Great Lakes. We have checked out the Erie Canal Locks in Lockport, spent three weeks living within a couple hundred yards of Lake Ontario, went to Niagara Falls. We have crossed over the Erie Canal many times while going to the store or exploring the area.
Jim and Lorraine treated us to to a traditional Western New York meal, Beef on Weck and Chicken Wings. It was really good and fun to experience the food of the area. Thankyou!
Yesterday we rode our bikes to Golden Hill State Park, which is next door and checked out the Thirty Mile Point Light. This lighthouse was built in 1875 and still is in great condition.
We have had a great time here in western New York. What fun spotting ships way out on the lake or checking out the beautiful sunsets. We will be saying goodbye and heading east on Monday. Stay tuned as we travel to Living Waters Camp in Maine.
