We get asked this all the time, What do you do when volunteering at SWOER projects? We never know, we show up and help out how ever we can.
We just finished our first week at Lighthouse Christian Camp. There are 3 SOWER couples here this month. The first day Neil and I put a abandon travel trailer in a dumpster. Yes that was something different then we had done before. I operated a mini excavator and Neil helped guide. We tore the trailer apart and stuffed it in a roll off dumpster. This reminded me of when we had to have our old School Bus destroyed. The other big project was to put a drainage system in for three cabins. When the system was in, we helped roll out these giant rolls of sod to finish the project.
Our team also spread new bark on a couple of playgrounds, painted, washed windows, cleaned rooms and fixed some signs. We were all helping to get ready for their Family Camp which started Saturday.
We never know what the camp has for us to do when we show up, but we know that GOD has us there for a reason, and the abilities of the team are right for the jobs that need done at each project.
Looks like we will have some interesting projects coming up, stay tuned!
